Both teams had to play against very strong teams in the semifinals. Parma met the Hohenems Blue Devils and
was lucky to win with 33:29. The Adler had to face the Prague Panthers and were able to win after a hard fight with
25:21.

On the 12 July 2008 the Berlin Adler welcomed the Parma Panthers in Berlin as the host of the EFAF Cup 2008
finale. After both national anthems were performed by an opera singer, the referees and the teams took the field.
The Adler won the coin toss and chose to receive the ball first, but had to punt soon. Now the Panthers were able
to get into the red zone of the Adler but the field goal attempt was wide left.

On the next play Adler RB Björn Warnstedt (#25) fumbled the ball and the Panthers got in possession of the ball
again.
Anew the Panther got in the Adler red zone and tried a field goal, but this time it was blocked by the Adler. The first
quarter ended 0:0.

In the beginning of the second quarter the Adler got near the end zone of the Panthers, but the field goal attempt by
Rick Schneider (#85) was blocked also. After just three tries the Panthers had to punt and the Adler got the ball
back. The following field goal attempt by the Adler K Benjamin Lissewski (#98) was blocked again by Parma. Now
the Panthers fought their way across the field for 82 yards, but then Adler DB Oliver Flemming (#10) intercepted the
ball. The Adler tried to get into the end zone of the Panthers, but weren’t able until the end of the first halftime. So
the first two quarters ended without points.

In the halftime show the Adler presented the official German Bowl 2008 song (“Game of your life” by “The DMC
Project) for the first time to the public.

The second half started with the possession of the ball for the panthers. They tried to gain yards with long passes,
but again they were intercepted by the Adler. This time Adler LB Colin Disch (#56) picked the ball out of the air and
returned it to the Panthers end zone. Due to two block in the back penalties by Berlin the touchdown wasn’t good.
But the Adler were in possession of the ball again. And this time Adler QB Brett Hall (#9) completed a pass to WR
Thomas Emslander (#81), who ran with ball into the Panthers end zone. B. Lissewski made the extra point and
the Adler took over the lead with 7:0.

Now both teams had several possessions of the ball, which all ended in punts.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, B. Hall threw a long pass to WR Hemaseh Heidary (#16) for the second
touchdown of the day. The extra point by B. Lissewski was good again (Berlin 14:0 Parma).
The Panthers got more and more difficulties with defense of Berlin.
After just some tries they had to punt again. And anew it was B. Hall with a pass to WR Johnny Schmuck (#84)
which resulted in the next touchdown for the Adler. For the third time B. Lissewski kicked the ball through the
uprights for an extra point (Berlin 21:0 Parma).

On the third try of the following possession of the ball for the Panthers, O. Flemming was able to intercept the ball
again.
Just before the end of the game Adler QB Daniel Kiffner (#17) threw a 49 yards pass to H. Heidary into the end
zone of the Panthers for the fourth and last touchdown of the game. The Adler tried a two-point conversion and DB
Karl Michel (#32) rushed into the end zone for another two points. Shortly thereafter the white head blew the
whistle and the game was over. Berlin won against Parma with 29:0.

The Berlin Adler are just the second german team to win the EFAF Cup.

After the game the officials of the EFAF Robert Huber, Uwe Talke and Thomas Meyer presented the cups and
medals to both teams. The trophies for the MVPs went to LB Alberto Lanzoni (Parma) and DB Oliver Flemming
(Berlin). The game day ended with great fireworks.
