raised both my younger sister and I in a small town in South Georgia called LaGrange. Through this strong and
powerful woman I have learned the true meaning of survival and determination. Taking care of, nurturing and
mentoring your family takes precedence over everything. Our home was filled with love and laughter. Getting a
solid education was my goal and determination. Being the first to receive a college degree from an accredited
institution was the proudest moment of my life. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s
of Science in Sports Management in May of 2006.
Not only was football a crucial part of my life but maintaining an outstanding grade point average and participating
in other school programs and being active in community activities were very important to me. I have always striven
to be the best in everything that I did. Maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle kept me focused on my goals for
the future. True sportsmanship was also very vital to me. Football is not a one man sport. It is a team sport that
taught me the importance of working together. Whatever decisions we made, we did it together as a team. Hard
work, perseverance, discipline and always keeping a positive attitude kept me a champion whether on or off the
field. Helping fellow team mates with their weaknesses became my strength. Staying focus on our mission was
our number one priority. It was rewarding to win but winning was not everything to us. We enjoyed the game and
the comradely that came with the sport.
My contribution to the community included assisting with the set up of the Special Olympics, volunteering to read to
the children at a local elementary school, and participating in fund raising activities to help with the Hurricane
Katrina Relief. I currently an active member of my church and enjoy attending services twice a week. My passion is
always to remain humble and always strive to become a better role model for the younger generation.
I bring to you not only an athlete but a man that has met the challenges and knows the hard work and loyalty that
comes with being part of a team, a strong community and a family of love and dedication. Having to overcome
many obstacles earlier in life and throughout my football career has molded me into who I am today.
I am Johnnie Williams the IV.
