To Whom It May Concern:
To many coaches and team owners in the Europe league. My name is Eric "Smoke" Henson and I am a former
college football player that wants to continue my football career. My best stats were when I played at Culver-
Stockton College before I transferred to Western New Mexico University. That was before I started playing for
Western New Mexico University. The only position I played throughout high school and college was a wide
gridiron. When I started attending Western New Mexico University I knew that I could play other positions besides
wide receiver. I love the game of football and I know I can help the team more by playing different positions
besides a wide receiver. While attending the Western New Mexico University I was asked to play corner back and
running back for some games. I knew the coaches counted on to make the plays. Even the defensive backs were
depending on my talent. I really enjoy doing this because I am very well conditioned and can play both offense and
adrenaline rush. I also love to score and make big plays any way possible. My stats are not that great but I have the
determination and the coaching staff I need to be involved win the game plan as far as offense, defense, and of
course special teams. Even though the team as a whole had a lack of talent, I wanted to win because that is in my
competitive nature and I have the determination to win. I knew that this University and this group of players were
not use to winning so it was my goal to help them win. As the 2003 season ended I was looking forward to the next
season until a family problem came up and the compliance director said I was at my ninth semester and I had to
go part-time to be eligible so I stayed at home and worked out and I also went to a community college at home. I
was determined to get back on the gridiron because I was not finished with what I had started. Not only that but I
wasn't done with football. I had counted my semesters and found out that it was only eight semester and the
compliance director had miscalculated my semesters and I immediately called Coach Wade and told him what
had happened. My coach helped solve the problem and I continued playing. Spring 2006 came around and there
was even more talent. I had a great Spring Ball, all I ran was post and streak routes and score almost every time.
Unfortunately, during the last play of the spring game I got my foot caught under a tackier, I didn't have to get
surgery done but I had to wear a cast on my foot for three months. So with that being said I did not have a great
senior year due to the injury. The good thing was I only missed one game and played a lot of special teams just to
help my team try to win games. I really enjoy playing football outside. I probably will not ever be able to get the
opportunity to play in the NFL because of attending a small college. However, if I get the opportunity to play with a
team in Europe, the team will have one of the most hard working players on the team that will do anything to win a
championship.
Sincerely,
Eric Henson
